Mothers Day 2013

Happy mother’s day Wylder Nation.  Thank you all for the amazing well wishes, notes and love you sent my way today.  They helped my through whay at times felt like a very impossibly day.  As you can imagine it has been a day filled with ups and downs, but mostly one celebrating the fact that I am so proud to be Wylder’s mom, and so grateful for all the moms in my life.  Steven took great care of me today, and we celebrated my wonderful momma this morning at brunch on this beautiful sunny Arizona day.   I am so very greatful for my mom.

I know we have celebrated and chatted about many people on Wylder’s blog, but one person I wanted to celebrate and share about today in honor of Mothers day is my Nani.  She is the greatest grandmother of all times, with 4 children, 11 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren … her life has been one that defines courage while teaching us all of us what it means to be family.  Her life has been full of ups and downs, but she always manages to find the light, strength and all the goodness she has had over her last 80 years.  I admire her … with my whole heart.  She married her soul mate, my pops, had a family and truly has taught us all how to love and care for one another unconditionally.

For her 80th birthday just a few weekends back she asked for a girls trip.  As you can imagine all of us gals were thrilled and couldn’t wait for our next adventure …. soon to be known as the “nanapaloosa”.  The 11 women in our family met up in palm desert and had a weekend full of fun and laughter.  Family is an amazing thing, really … the best medicine EVER!!  No matter how much time passes in between visits … we all pick right back up where we left off, and laugh and love our way through weekend get aways, graduations, birthdays, weddings, and so much more.  We laughed and smiled our way through another incredible memorable time with our Nani.  Just add it to the list of Disneyland trips, tap dancing in the kitchen, dancing though 5 grandchildren weddings and so much more we reminiced about.  The matriarch of the family, our nani, is a beautiful, kind, loving, admirable, strong, stylish, story telling women in which we all soak up her every word, and secretly all hope to have all that she has at our own 80th birthdays …. family that cannot be without her.  What an inspirational mother figure for us all this mothers day.

When I close my eyes at the end of the day and daydream about the diseases we might cure, living on the beach, my Wylder … I cannot help but dream about one day having all that Nani has accomplished under my belt, and a family that longs to be around me and loves me so very much.  Nani-  I know you woke up everyday for years and put your feet on the floor boards and just asked the Lord to make it a good day for me, steven and wylder.  We felt it everyday …. and had it everyday.  We thank you and we love you. You are our inspiration.

BIG hugs and  happy mothers day to all of you amazing momma’s doing what you do best, loving your children.  Wylder, thank you for choosing me  to be your mommy … it will forever be my greatest gift.   I love and miss you little one and will see you in my dreams.  xoxo
