It’s Fall

It officially feels like fall here in the Valley.  The mornings are crispy, the afternoons sunny and the HOPE WALK 2013 was today.  I feel like the Hope Walk always kicks off the start to the fall season for me.  It was a great day full of hope with lots of walkers and cruisers.  There were many beautiful kiddos and their families … and stories full of hope.  Kids that couldn’t walk last year, took steps across the finish line today, and kiddos with their darling bald heads from Chemo last year had locks and curls as they passed us by this year.  There were also those little ones, like Wylder, that were with us only in spirit today … it is always such a day of relection.

Hope Walk 2010

The HOPE KIDS were so grateful to all of you that donated books … the last of the books (80 it total) donated by you for Wylder’s birthday were passed out today.  The kids were simply delighted.  Sometimes a picture is simply worth a thousand words, so check out these photos from our beautiful morning.

HOPE KIDS is just an amazing organization we feel so blessed to be involved with.  Bridget, Lisa and many others work so hard everyday to plan events and activities to keep the kids, their sibling and families spirits lifted all year … providing hope to over 900 families here in Arizona.  WOW.   Big shout out to my mom and gal pal Alexa for hanging with me and showing your support today.

Here is a little video just as the walkers were about to take off … tear jerker … click here   IMG_0762

Wylder, I missed you today, as I do everyday.  We hope you saw your special balloon release as we celebrated you when the walk was complete.  Thank you for introducing me to this community Wylder, and the kids just love your books and lessons … a little piece of you is with so many.  See you in my dreams littles.  xoxo

Such sweet pics, Shannon. These are amazing little kiddos! And Bruiser is really making his presence known – your baby bump is adorable! xoxoxo

They are all such little darlings, I love to be around all those special kids and their families. And you are SO right, Bruiser is making HUGE progress (tee hee) … people arent kidding when they say you show more with baby #2. Thanks Cathy. ;)

I am chuckling at “Bruiser” and thinking that no matter what you name him, he is going to be Bruiser all his life. Our youngest grandson’s name is Colby and all through the pregnancy we all called him our “l’il cheese”. He is now 2 1/2 and is called Mr. Cheese, the Cheese, Cheeser, and Cheesy Boy more often than he is called Colby! By the way, I received the books yesterday. Thanks! I will keep you posted.

This totally had me giggling Cathy. I just love how nick names stick! Also, all of steven’s cousins call me either Cheese or The Burger … so tell your youngest grandson I know just how he feels (tee hee). Glad you got the books .. can’t wait to see the pictures!! xoxo
