Bittersweet Week

Happy belated Mothers Day Wylder Nation mommas.  My absence in writing is not because you are all far from my mind, but only because being Koa’s momma, working part time, helping prepare for an event to honor the biggest life I have ever known … well, it’s all keeping my quite busy.

My heart was both full and heavy this mother’s day.  Full of love for the joy of Koa baby and full of ache missing my Littles.

koa and daddy mothers day 2014

I thought of lots of mommas on this special day.  Those who ache to be mommas, those who have lost their mommas, birth mommas and those mommas with little ones that are gone to early.  I soaked in the smell and love of my Koa Padraig on an Arizona sunshiney day surrounded by those I love most (my momma and my hubby).  I sent up a lot of prayers and love this mother’s day.

Wylder’s birthday is this week. We are going to celebrate him by putting together a little area in our backyard for him.  We will share him with his little brother through photos and remember the most beautiful day that he was brought into our lives.  The day he made me a momma.  We will honor his spirit.

You would be a magical 5 year old this week Wylder.  I know it.  We miss you so much.  We love you.  I promise to honor you on your special day and always.  Being your mommy will always be my greatest gift.

Please celebrate him.  Be kind to one another.  Donate.  Visit your local children’s hospital.  Pray.  Live like a WARRIOR!  Also, check the blog … I will be sharing about Wylder Nation Foundations BIG event in July!!

What a beautiful post, Shannon. I was thinking of you on Sunday, feeling for sure it would be a day of mixed emotions. Koa is getting cuter by the day! I just can’t get over that wise look on his little face – just like his big brother. :) Can’t wait for more details on the Gala. I so hope to be there! Tomorrow is MPS awareness day, so I will be wearing purple to honor our family’s beautiful Jayden and Brooklyn, who have San Filippo Syndrome, and I will be sporting my whale charm and celebrating Wylder with a new planting in my special garden. Pictures coming! :) xoxoxo

Thanks so much Cathy. I am so excited to think you just might be at the gala … so many supporters and friends in one place it is really going to be something. Thank you so much for planting for Wylder, I am sure he loves it (can’t wait to see picts). xoxo

  2. ok, that picture of Koa with his little hand on your cheek-LOVE!!!!

I know its so hard this week, there is just no easy way to ever get through all of this, it would be just so much better if we could be “normal” and have our babies with us. I wish Wylder was here to celebrate Mother’s Day, his birthday, and his new brother with you and Steven.

We are sending you so much love!!!

    love, Chelsea

It really just would be so much better Chels … there is just such an impossible heartache that I know you know all to well. Thanks for your love and sweetness. ps. The best part about that sweet pict of me and Koa Love is that he was being super aggressive and pushing me away, tee hee. Just looks like a loving gesture in the photo (ha!) :).
